I survived a motorcycle accident that shattered my right leg and hospitalized me in Switzerland for several weeks were doctors had to remove damaged bone from my leg causing it to be 3 cm. shorter. The hospital gave me the option of lengthening the shorter bone with an external fixator or to go see a specialist in Germany.
