Sheffield Ring fixator

The Sheffield ring fixator is a modified Ilizarov external device mostly used for lengthening the tibia (lower leg). The Sheffield ring fixator is a commonly used external device in the United States and is used at the Betz institute mainly for medical indications but is also available for cosmetic limb lengthening.

External fixators are not designed to bear a person’s full weight; therefore, it is necessary that each patient use a wheelchair during the lengthening phase.
